Why ours looks so much better.
Most galaxy projectors are terrible, and it is always the same reason. They fire a cluster of coloured LEDs straight at the ceiling. What you get is a blurry wash, green blobs, and a glow that reads as a nightlight rather than a sky.
Ours works the way a planetarium does. The light passes through a physical projection slide and a precision focusing lens, and the focus ring lets you sharpen it to your own ceiling height. That is the whole reason the stars have edges.

I had fun playing with this projector and reviewing it! It comes ready to go, right from the box! It is very simple to slide the disc in and out to choose what you wish to display. It tells you which side faces up and you can see from my picture how it says “up” but you have to look closely on the disc. This has six different color light displays. You can adjust the brightness from a soft glow to a brighter projection by pressing on the button. I got this for our boy because he is fascinated with space. I know he’s going to be delighted with this. There are 15 projection films included! And they sure are fun to explore. It’s all constructed very well and I see how this will be a long lasting nightlight and toy!

Sleep Timer: Being able to set it to shut off after 30 or 60 minutes is a small touch that makes a huge difference, no more waking up to a light still running at 3am.
